Abstract
|
|
|
Neonatal adrenal hemorrhage is not uncommon due to its relative large size and vascularity, thus making it vulnerable to traumatic and asphyxial injuries. It's etiology is unknown, but postulated etiologies include maternal diabetes, obstetric
trauma,
asphyxia, thrombocytopenia and coagulation defect.
Clinical manifestations are those of a paplable mass in the affected flank, anemia and jaundice. Hypoglycemia, hypotension and hypotension and hypovolemia may be present. While most neonatal adrenal hemorrhage remain intracapsular with
spontaneous
resolution accurate diagnosis is extremely important to eliminate unnecessary surgical explorations and even removal of a normal kidney.
We experinced two cases of neonatal adrenal hemorrhage.
We report those cases with brief review of related literature.
